A newly developed Chinese nuclear submarine sank last year after an accident
#1
Senior US Defence officials are reporting that a newly made Chinese Nuclear Submarine sank last year by accident causing huge embarrassment to China.
It was previously suspected by the Americans, to have suddenly disappeared and was presumed sunk. However, these newly released satellite images by Planet Labs show efforts to retrieve the submarine, confirming the ill fate of the submarine.

This is a huge blow to the Chinese navy's ambitions to project strength in the Indo-Pacific as well as a national embarrassment.

Experts in the Indian public domain often react to Chinese equipment deployed in Ladakh by the PLA, by saying "It is Chinese, if it works, it works, otherwise..." commenting on the underwhelming endurance of the equipment reported from the area.

Most of the Chinese-made (with Pakistani production) fighter jet JF-17s flown by the Pakistan and Myanmar airforce have been grounded due to formations of cracks in their fuselage after repetitive use. Just this may, the Bangladeshi army reported an accident involving a Chinese-made Type-59G tank using Pakistani ammunition during a firing practice which resulted in the loss of life of one Bangladeshi Tankman and injured 2 more.

The lack of quality of Chinese-made weapons has always been a point of conversation amongst many Western experts. While time and time again it has been proven that one shouldn't underestimate an adversary's military capacity, high-profile accidents such as these may point out some truths to the commentary.
